Brigit, Brigid or Bríg  Old Irish meaning 'exalted one' is a goddess of pre-Christian Ireland. She appears in Irish mythology as a member of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the daughter of the Dagda and wife of Bres, with whom she had a son named Ruadán.  She is associated with the spring season, fertility, healing, poetry and smithcraft.

This silk painting was done as part of a series of mythical irish folklore ladies.  Daireana Queen of the Oak,  Roisin Dubh and The Tuatha de Daanan were some others.  The Limited Editions are beautifully printed on a very high quality art paper, using exceptional inks which have a fade proof archive quality of 75 years, most are printed from 100 although some of the larger ones are from only 50, all the prints are signed and numbered by June.
